Mehram - Episode 23

While N wonders why she continues to watch Chup Raho, I continue to wonder why we are watching this drama. For weeks we've gone around in circles and like the song, "...circle's round, it has no end..." this drama too shows no sight of an end. 

With this depressing thought, this episode opens with these two at it again - Hamza ki dulhan koun? Iqra says Maya, Maya says Iqra. 

Then Maya has an epiphany: both wives stay and Hamza decides. Really? Really? Cos Hamza has an awesome track record of decision making. #Urgh

Hamza decision kia le ga? The guy can't even eat khichri without choking and Iqra acting like he's having a near-death experience. Cue Maya's parents entrance...

I mean seriously - look at those shocked expressions. 

Nope. Sorry Maya. Good try. Your momma will lay down on the runway to stop your plane if she must. 

Maya tells mummy to reassure her grand-daughter...and mummy ji HANGS UP on her.

Really, kya sochna chahiye tha maya ko? did you want her to become a platonic wife for her brother in law.

I get it. Mom wants ke beti ka ghar bus jaaye. But really - when she gives advice, it's like nails on a chalkboard. 

now we know why Mummy ji and daddy ji dont get along so well. Mummy ji is a control freak who wont let her husband meet his family or friends and daddy ji is just a wuss.

oh thank god these two changed their clothes.

Yeh itna attitude Hamza kiss khushi mein dikha raha hei? Deemagh tu theek heina?

Areeb's priceless entry and his throwing flowers at Iqra...

I'm not an Agha Ali fan, but he's won me over as Areeb and this entrance needed to be giffed.

Is she for real? #WhatInTheWorld...? Har lardkay ki maa bun jati hein yeh.

Royalty???...agar tum Areeb se shadi kur leti Iqra toh uska sub kuch tumhara thaa...including dramatic mom and wierd gesture dad.

Hamza chalnei mein mushkil ho rahi hei, tu mein bhi aa jaon? Balkay forget that - where's Rashid when you need him??

Rashid is probably nursing a broken heart. 

 He was so close to having Humza all to himself and then the two chudail wives come back.

Parhaizi khanay mein tikka aur paratha. Now that's my kind of diet!

You know...the kimono scene...Heina? Heina?

Didn't Hamza resign??!!
Rashid can't bear to be separated from Humza. 

More inappropriate behavior - buying your 'Bhabi' jewelry...

EVEN WORSE - Buying BOTH your wives the same thing. Seriously? Seriously? What is wrong with this guy??!!

Sorry Hamza. It was just a ruse. You only get one wife. Please pick soon. Kitni aur qistain lagaingi to make up your mind?

Iqra continues to act like a naik-parsa and hiding behind Maya who has the guts to say the truth to Hamza's face. Attagirl Maya! You tell him!

Maya - You take him Iqra, I'll leave.

Iqra - You take him Maya, I'll leave. 

Summary - No one wants him and both are trying to push him into the other wife. Wow, that's harsh. Even for poor, bin maa baap ka bacha, Hamza. 

Waise khala kahaan hein??

While these two sort out who goes and who stays with Humza...

...Humza is in a dilemma of his own.

Still trying to get over the fact that the drama makers switched entrances mid-drama and want us to beleive Hamza changed houses. Sheesh.

Ummm...Hamza is resigning. Again.

He also has a brilliant idea: Woh beech mein se apne aap ko nikaal raha hei. 

 Yaar. This drama. I can't take it anymore.

Are Iqra and Maya supposed to continue as a married couple? What is Hamza's going away solving? EVEN ON MARS YOU WILL STILL BE MARRIED TO BOTH OF THEM AND THEY CAN'T GET ON WITH THEIR LIVES. 

He's not going to Mars he's going somewhere further than Mars...

Islamabad...ISLAMABAD!!!!

 Itna suspense aur kidher jaa rahe hain humza...Islamabad. ugh. As expected Rashid doesnt want Humza to leav. He has other plans...

Jahaan itna kuch ho raha hei, wahaan Rashid nei soocha mein bhi chance maar loon. He's gonna take Hamza home with him.

Are you going to leave bottles of sleeping pills or rat poison lying around the house this time? 

Behind the scene analysis...because if ANYONE is watching this drama, you should be having discussions like this. I mean, the drama isn't even over and there's enough material to conduct a two semester college course on it.

Just know: Every time senior artists talk about the deteriorating state of Pakistani dramas, they are thinking of Mehram. 

More gems from Hamza. Be a man Hamza. You're just upset because you can't live the all-men dream: to have two wives at the same time. 

Oh, and if you hate them, then why not divorce them? Chit bhi apni, pat bhi apni. Yeh kia baath hui?

LARDKIAN? GRACEFUL?

Are we talking about Maya and Iqra? One with a birds nest for hair and the other who is putting on pounds as we breath?

Rashid wants Hamza to TOSS to find out which wife to keep...Will this brilliance NEVER end?

FYI: Head pe Maya honi chaheeaye thi. At least she's not a doormat like Iqra. 

Toss ka result bhi Humza ko pasand nahi aya...to phir pugam kurwa lo.

That's nice. They have a garden to meet guests at the office.

At the beginning of this post, I said I don't know why we are still watching this trainwreck. I take that all back. We are watching it because it's the funniest thing on TV these days.
