Koi Deepak Ho - Episode 21

Overall, this is a pretty straight forward drama. No leaps of faith, no story gaps. The story isn't new either: Rich boy married poor girl - rich boy's sister hates girl's guts and is determined to get the marriage over with. Overall, you know the poor girl will suffer miserably before she is vindicated and the age-old Cinderella story makes it for a pretty much smooth watch. But since I have time, I'll share my musings on the latest episode with you...I know. You're welcome, lol.

Get a clue Rohail: SHE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU.
This guy. If there is anything I don't like about this drama, it's this guy. Who agrees to cast him in anything? He's down right annoying. But, does very well as the clueless, puppet, love-sick Romeo in this drama.

Mom: Jitni tum achi ho ussay bhi achi tumhari kismat hei.
One can only hope Aunty...She definitely deserves a large tablespoon of what she's she serving to poor Sania.

Hard to believe a girl can lie so blatantly to her own brother.

Wait - what? Just visuals of Zunaira spewing all kinds of acid? We don't get to hear what she's saying? Not cool Express. Not cool.

Here is the real crux of this drama: Sania refuses to tell her husband that Rohail is stalking her. Luckily for us, she has a pretty good reason why she's scared to tell him, but still...

Holy smokes - look at the size of that phone! Every Karachi, phone-snatchers dream.

Rohail says he won't go meet Zunaira. Which means he WILL totally go meet her. Cos akal tu naam ki koi cheez he nahi hei is aadmi ke paas.

Sania: Zunaira yeh Tum mujhe kahaan le aaee ho?
Why don't these life-changing questions happen before you set yourself knee-deep in doo doo?

GET UP AND RUN SANIA!!

Bravo Express, bravo! What a great, to-the-point confrontation! Usually in confrontation scenes like this, I'm thinking of 101 things that someone could have done to diffuse the situation. But this was very well done. Mogambo khush hua!

Let's take one more look at smug evilness.

Matlab yeh, that this spawn of evil has managed to succeed in her nefarious plan, which she has been open about from day one, yet mom you continue to cross your fingers and hope for the best. Bachi hei...aahista aahista samjh jaaye gi...

I really like the mom's character. She is - or seems - to genuinely accept Sania and want to make sure her son's marriage survives. She doesn't want to associate with Sania's dirt-poor family, and quite frankly, as long as she is sincere with Sania - which I think she has been - I can forgive her this antipathy towards Sania's family.

Rohail nei pehla, aur Express nei dosara, dhung ka kaam kia. He came, he explained, but Bilal doesn't want to listen. Now we can move on in peace knowing Rohail did his part and didn't just vanish off to his out-of-city job.

At 21 episodes, I'd bet this drama is fast approaching it's end. Next week's promo promises Zunaira will get what she deserves -- which mean we will have to sit through plenty of self-realization and grovelling for forgiveness scenes. Ah well, I guess we will do what we must ;)
