Jackson Heights - Episode 23

Having suffered at Sikander's hands for 8 years of her life, Salma ji finally has the upper hand and she's milking it for all its worth.

Salma Ji takes her wheelchair bound husband to the park to do his bezti. Sikandar makes pained expressions the whole time.
Salma Ji also imparts with some philosophical nonsense about asli mard yahaan se hota hei wahaan se nahi or something. (Yes, I'm SO invested in this scene.)
Sikandar, is bakwas se tu acha tha tum ghar par beth kar TV dekhte rehte...
to add insult  to injury...salma also wants Sikander to take Man-lessons from bhatti sahab.
That's the last straw for Sikander because he decides to leave only to be reminded by Salma that he's completely dependant on her for his movements.

In spite of Rizwan's blabbing to the sister, the wedding is still on. Siblings just aren't made the way they used to be any more...

Bijamalo meets Salma Ji - seriously, yeh cab kub chalata hei?? - on the street and proceeds to bring her up to date on the latest drama concerning Jamshed, Bhatti Sahab and his Nani. He also spends a few minutes telling Salma Ji how great she is.

Michelle gets a set down by Maria and Michelle is in a tissy about how 'childish' she's acting these days...But don't worry. It's not like she's gonna make any changes.
Wolverine finds out how easily his plans for an America passport can get disrupted.

Salma Ji confronts Bhatti Sahab (are they going to continue calling each other Ji and Sahab after they're married? I feel like I'm the only one interested in knowing answers to these crucial questions...) and Bhatti Sahab breaks down. And so do we...
Damn you immigration requirements! Don't you know Nani is dying here!

Kash is back and check out that change of attitude...

Kash aur Sikandar ki dosti KHATAM. #GoodRiddance
Look at taee's face...lol. Like she sucked on a lemon.

This awesomeness went down. Jamshed thinks he can barge into Rizwan's house and tell him off. But Rizwan has homeground advantage, Jamshed my bouy. Not to mention he's way smarter than you.

Hey Jamshed next time you want to intimidate Rizwan..maybe take a little bar stool with you , so you can be at his eye level.

This loser plays the Indian vs Pakistani card. Yeah, for real.  What a FOB.
Seriously - this is America.

Rizwan ultimately kicks Jamshed out after theek thaak bezti.
...I wish Rizwan would marry me. I'd make myself available...

*Sigh* Salma Ji - not again...

Aik aur umeedwaar - Nadir thinking his friend Jamshed has a heart. Or a brain. Or feelings. Nope. Jamshed is blind to anything but getting that passport that he keeps throwing in people's (who don't care at all) faces.

oh em gee... looks like for the very first time...salma is actually going to accept Aaaliyah's advice

Holy moly. I did not see THAT coming. So Bhatti Sahab has decided to go to Pakistan - Ok. BUT, he wants Salma Ji to go with him, or say bye-bye forever.
Wait - what? NO...NOOOOO!!

Maria has gotten her act together and wants to attend the wedding, but she cant get off until a few more weeks. Michelle has asked Jamshed about moving the wedding forward and Mr. 6-din-lardki-in is not too happy about this turn of events...

Farigh Cabbie has weird timing...
Waise Bhatti Sahab, tayyari toh aap aise hi kur rahe hain jaise shadi aur valima honay wala hai Pakistan mai. Salma ji ka bag, Salma ji ka ticket, Salma ji ko ultimatum.

Most awkward scene. Like ever. How can Michelle be so oblivious to the obvious dislike these two have for one another? I don't get it. What I do get is how she was deceived the first time - not to be mean, but there seems to be a pattern here, Michelle.
Wolverine trying and failing to sound nonchalant...
Bechari Salma ji dumped into emotional doo-doo by both Bhatti sahab and then Imaan

Lately there have been many dramas dealing with the theme of extra marital affairs, in a very cringe-worthy manner I must add. While the Bhatti-Salma thing isn't an extra marital affair per se, but it has been dealt with more realistically. For victims of emotional and physical abuse, it is quite often very hard to break free from the shackles that bind them to these relationships. Another feather in Jackson Height's hat. Kudos Vasay Chaudhry.

Let's see what tonight's episode has in store for us.
