Jackson Heights - Last Episode

It's ok. Don't be ashamed. You can do a victory dance that we've finally reached the end of this journey. What? It's just me? Ok. No issues. Let's see how the end played out for our favorite - and not so favorite - characters.

Oh wow. There was just so much said and unsaid here. I almost feel guilty making a meme out of any screenshot.

So Jamshed has this poignant flashback. Back to when he lived with nani and he believed in hard work and not scamming his way to the top. Tu beta, kar lete honest mehnat tu aaj yeh din na dekhna pradhta. #NoSympathy

And then there are these two. Seriously, if Bhatti Sahab wasn't an option, I'd be all over this reformed-rake story. But as it stands, these two idiots trying to make their life into a fairytale just makes my blood pressure rise.

I'm enjoying every second of this douche's take down. Every. Single. Second. It makes me feel vindicated for each time I yelled at the screen when he was conning Michelle. I hope Adnan can come back for his pound of flesh too. That would be icing on the cake.

Get this - this churail wants to talk mazhab

Another wonderful scene of what happens in the aftermath of a death of a parent. I know the Bhai-bhabi duo hasn't been shown with the best of motives - but there is always a gap between those that need to distribute the jaidad and move on, and those that don't/can't move on as fast.
Waise - Bhai sahab wants to sell this house and move into a bigger house. I want to know with what money? His source of income (Bhatti Sahab) has now become an unemployed guest in his house...remember?

Rizwan brags about his set down of Jamshed. Not cool, Rizwan. Not cool. Michelle too is unimpressed and obviously uncomfortable with Rizwan's insistance to talk about Jamshed.

Not for me. I plan to screen shot every tear.

Sikandar has to be lectured by a middle-schooler.

Michelle has one final meeting with Jamshed to give herself closure. I guess this was good closure for us too. But I felt like I just couldn't bring myself to care. I just want to get back to Bhatti Sahab and Selma...

...but let's savor more public crying from Jamshed first. (Just be glad I spared you all a screen shot of Jamshed working at a falooda truck :p)

Rizwan - once more left Michelle-less.

Honestly - if you didn't cry at this scene, you must be made of stone.

#Hmph
This just proves how nice of a person Michelle was. Let's not count this as a Jamshed-got-a-happy-ending too.

BUT we can definitely celebrate the perfect ending for these two! Oh balle balle!!

Honestly - I read quite a few blogs that went on and on about how this drama was dragged out, how the characters went around in circles, and how relieved they were it was over. (Do they know it's being replaced by a Ayesha Khan and Jibran Syed drama that looks like a dosari biwi saga? But, I digress...) I could not disagree with them more. This drama was a wonderful portrayal of complicated the lives of American desis are overseas. Money doesn't grow on trees and not every desi that comes to the US makes it big. Many struggle - for years - just to make ends meet.

What I find most interesting when I watch a drama and write a post is that even though we all watch the same drama, we come away touched by different characters. As much as I wanted to skip the Michelle and Jamshed parts, N was all about him reforming and getting a happy ending. And that's what I think this drama managed to do - give its characters, and viewers, a happy ending to a great journey.

Bravo, team Jackson Heights - stand tall. You did good!

As Shamsi pointed out in her review of Jackson height’s last episode review…I had a different take on the whole Jamshed-Michelle-Rizwan scenario.  So I thought I should write mine separately from her. Also as I’m always lagging behind, so I figured it wasn’t fair to deprive you guys of her awesome review while I get my act together. This way you guys get two reviews for the price (free) of one. Yayyy!! (actually 3 reviews cos I just posted the super delayed episode 26 review too heheh)

    1. Haha...nope we don't have a no reply policy... Just a "too lazy to reply" or a "I'm trying to get this recite out before the next episode airs so no time to scratch my grad leave some reply to comments" policy. But I promise to be a little better from now on.

    3. Aww Popo you are too sweet!

So N thinks she's going to write a second review and make us all #TeamJamshed. Lucky for us, she's always so busy that I think she'll probably just drop that ball...and we can happily continue with our Jamshed bashing :P
