Before we start the review, let's just relive Fareesa not getting her cake and not eating it either...
So the final episode was just a big happy family reunion...
Psycho-ness is in poor Ramiz's blood: check out dad showing his wife's 'infidelity' pics to him. That's messed up.
Anyone else notice this kid crying like an adult?
Psycho Ramiz Logic: My wife ran away with her lover boy so im going to whip her with my belt to keep her with me. (Yeah cos that strategy worked really well with your parents haan Ramiz?)
Aur karo psychos se shadi Haya. You really taught Hadi a lesson didnt you. Wah!!!
Mehram good-for-nothing dad giving the worst "I'm so sad" performance of his life. Even Taya looks disappointed.
even the good for nothing khala and Fareesa's mom made an appearance. Fareesa aur saim ko bhi bula lete hospital.
We got to see Rameez's parents... And the underlying cause of his psychosis. I didn't really get the point of showing this... Since he had already mentioned about his parents divorce and him growing up without any support from either parent. But maybe the really dumb viewers... The ones who thought this show was brilliant needed it spelt out for them.
So back story: psycho Rameez had a psycho dad while growing up and his mom ran away with the boss... Although the writers and actors weren't entirely sure as to who's boss mummy dearest had run away with. One minute the dad says its his boss, next mom says its her boss. Or was she a total floozy and was having an affair with both their bosses?

Haan. I'm sure your dad beating his wife with a belt and you keeping Haya hostage had NOTHING to do with the women running away...
Anyone else notice this kid crying like an adult?
Ummm...if you knew she was pregnant, why did you force her to rock climb?? Oh. Haan. He's cray-cray. Ok, carry on...
Taya ji also makes a come back in the final epsiode to remind us that he exists. Then he and doctor hadi the genious plan on what to do with ramiz
he's been sitting at home since Haya ran away crying about his crappy childhood. Can't belive it will still take the police 24 hours to find him. smh.
Meantime Dr Hadi get's to indulge in his favourite pastime...confusing haya with his non romantic-romantic gestures.

A finale miracle! In 10 minutes Hadi has figured out he loves the Haya he has spent the past 19 EPISODES claiming is just his cousin/friend/platonic-whatever. Now we're all, "Let's run away and basaofy apni dunya somewhere dur." #LegitBehavior
Ramiz and Fareesa had every excuse to suspect these two. Especially with all this inappropriate behavior going on. Just friends, my ass. :P
How did Ramiz manage to smuggle Haya out of Taya's house without anyone finding out? Especially Hadi jo Haya ki good mein sar rakh kar so raha tha...?
For rich doctors with psycho in laws these guys have terrible security. Ramiz enters the house and Haya's room, holds a gun to Hadi's head and no one finds out. Really...really?
Alvida's writer be all like:

Hadi has an epiphany that Ramiz has taken Haya...I mean, maybe she went to the bathroom? Maybe she was downstairs chit chatting with Taya? Shouldn't you check before you go tearing out of the house?

For reals - how many exits does this apartment have?
Even I've watched enough Grey's Anatomy to know that the Emergency Medicine from Philippines certified doctor should NOT be shaking her head. #FacePalm

As per #PakistaniDramaLogic, this family is running in and out of the OR as they will. Taya decides that Hadi, the obstetrician, should be treating Haya. Cos that's what obstetricians do, treat head wounds. Duh.
Yes because Haya's death bed is the most appropriate place for Hadi to regain his confidence as a doctor.

And then this scene. I almost gave up watching the rest. I couldn't deal anymore...What??the post surgery pep talk from brain doctor dad...
Uhhh Doctor Hadi - don't you think you should stop crying like a baby and START CPR??!! She's flatlining...yet miraculously still breathing...
oh look who survived her brain bleeding out and her heart stopping while doctor hadi did nothing...
okay who else saw Hadi coming down the stairs to take cant-climb-stairs-in-her-condition Haya to her room and get excited thinking he would lift her in her arms and carry her upstairs???
Unfortunately this is a pakistani drama so...
can't-climb-stairs-in-her-condition-haya...climbs the stairs

*Sigh* 4 minutes left of this drama and we still seem to be at Point A - Hadi leaving Haya, Haya begging him not to go.
...And they lived happily ever after. Like SRK and Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hei - except Haya got less-prettier (unlike Kajol) and there was no dancing in the rain in a sari sequence...
No closing remarks. I think we were over this drama before it even began. I'm not sure how critics and audiences are all applause for this drama. There were just too many issues, if you ask me, and I'm not quite sure how ending the drama with Haya (looking like crap) and Hadi hi-fiving her is supposed to give me closure.
And for the record, I don't care how cute he is, I wouldn't let Dr. Hadi near me with a ten foot pole.
I agree with you on everything! I laughed out loud when taya ji the doctor walked out of the operating room. I mean seriously
ReplyDeleteRight, right!?! I mean which other doctor was operating on her during that time? And then Dr Hadi the "best doctor in Pakistan" operated on her and she "does" How she survived all that needs to be succumbed fit medical studies. Rofl.
DeleteThis drama was a mess from the start. At first I couldn't handle Haya's childish behavior of running from one place to the next to get away from Hadi. Then Hadi's continuous denying-yet-also-not-denying the fact that he likes Haya. Rameez's psycho taken to so many weird levels (I have to admit he was doing great when he truly started to act crazy but it just went to the extremes). Fareesa's baseless arguments. Taya and tayi ji offering the dumbest advice. And to top it all off the good for nothing Mehram dad. Any other inconsistencies, such as almost every hospital scene where the practitioners are doing exactly what they're not specialized in, are just the icing on the cake. :)
ReplyDeleteI found your blog today through your posts on Muhabbat Aag Si (I recently started watching that drama and I googled reviews). Anyway I've read all your Alvida posts and they have all been HILARIOUS!! You guys did a great job reviewing this gem lol. Even though it was a hot mess, it was still watchable. I'm looking forward to what you guys post next! What dramas are you guys currently watching?
ReplyDeleteHafsa - We are watching a whole bunch. Even though we aren't actualy reviewing them that often. You can see what we think about the ones we are watching in the side bar of our blog (not visible on your phone unless you view it as a normal page - sorry!).
