Dil Ka Kya Rung Karun - Episode 2

Continuing with our series, I present: 10 reasons to watch Dil Ka Kya Rung Karun episode 2...

Reason 1: The dadi that insisted the nikah take place immediately and now thinks the dulhan's parents are being unreasonable by expecting no one to want to marry their widowed daughter.

Reason 2: The mom who came up with the genius (#Sarcasm) and predictable solution - marry the widow off to the younger brother #PakistaniDramaLogic.

Reason 3: This poor shmuck that's out on his date and doesn't even know what plans his mom and dadi are cooking up.

Reason 4: How neatly mom and dadi corner the poor shmuck into acknowledging Aiza's situation and the best 'solution' for it.

Reason 5: The exact moment Danial proves what a shmuck he is by not speaking up about his girlfriend. #Disappointed yet #Predictable.

Reason 6: The moment Aiza breaks her silence and cries on Danial's shoulder. Some how it creates a bond, which is quite touching. Unfortunately, both families take it as a sign that only Danial can 'save' Aiza, and they renew the pressure on Danial to consider the relationship.

Reason 7: The self-sacrifice by the love of Danial's life. I must admit, this is probably the first time I've seen Sidra Batool in a drama and so far, she has impressed.

Reason 8: The cliched, yet mandatory hugging-your-deceased-husband's-shirt-and-crying scene...

Reason 9: The beautiful way the flashbacks have been woven into the story. Instead of watching the scenes, and then watching them again in flashbacks (Remember #MohabatSubhaKaSitaraHai? Yawn). The way Danial has a flashback about his bhabhi and Aiza's flashbacks, allow us to better understand the depth of their emotions and feel for their loss. Bravo drama makers. Good call on that.

Reason 10: A good OST that, so far, quite poignantly and melodiously has been woven into the scenes. It's not on repeat in my car, but it is catchy and easy on the ears.

Still on my watch list. On to episode 3...

  1. Sidra batool played the annoying little sister of her annoying older brother played by your favourite Ahsan khan in Gohar e Nayab
