Zid - Episode 16

Well, well well. I must say after 15 episodes of running around in circles, this episode managed to leave me at a bit of a loss for words. The episode was quite dark and eerie - plus there seems to be some positive movement in the direction of the End of this drama.

I'd like to begin by apologizing: one, for kind of giving away a plot point in my last review (totally unintentional. I thought about editing it after I watched episode 16, but...*shrug*) and two, (in advance) for this weirdly pieced together review.

Now that Zee is being housed by Saman and Omar (to be noted: Omar is NOT happy about this one bit), she can't help but compare herself constantly to Saman and Saman isn't too happy with these barbs being thrown at her every other scene.
But, don't worry, she isn't letting Zee go anywhere. Yup, no danger of kicking the ex-divorced-trouble-making wife out.

Rukhi is missing. Dropped off the face of the earth. #ToldYouSo

Zee trying to get into Omar's good graces.
At least he has the good sense to not care and see right through her new-found goodness.

More shady behavior from the obviously guilty Qasim. I have quite a bit to say here, but I'm trying to keep it under wraps until I see it confirmed.

Omar wants Saman to kick Zee out. Now.
Nope. No chance, buster.

Everyone is officially worried about Rukhi's disappearance. Up until this point, everyone was insisting she ran away. Oh, and Qasim uncle also accuses David of 'killing' his daughter....ahem.

David decides he's going to file a missing person report. And he's going to put down Qasim as the main suspect.
And Omar doesn't bat an eye....? Nothing in Qasim Uncle's defense?  What does that tell you...?

Once more Zee corners Omar and tries to grovel and apologize. Once more, Saman has great timing and manages to listen in on the last part of the conversation.

Zee gloats that she and Saman are basically trying to win Omar to prove who is a better woman to each other. I think, if Saman is so determined to prove she isn't like Zee, she should admit she may like Omar (just a tinsy winsy bit) and try to make her marriage work. Not run away from it like Zee did.

I don't even want to discuss this scene. *sigh* Rukhi finds out Saman is housing Zee after her mayun (when she puts on the hideous green outfit), but here she is, having a normal chit chat with Saman. Maybe Saman is hallucinating?

Zee - schizophrenic that she is - is either shooting barbs at Saman or trying to give her a big dose of a reality check. I want to hate Zee, but she has these occasional scenes where she appears to be the only voice of reason. It's very confusing.

Through out the episode, it appears Saman is unhappy if she catches Zee and Omar together. But then, she continues to force Omar to accept Zee under his roof. And to top it off, she keeps insisting she doesn't care for Omar. Whereas Zee's occasional bout of clarity amongst her consistent craziness makes me hate her a little less - Saman's stupidity just makes me want to slap her.

Come on, Saman. Get it together already!!

  1. I don't know if you've seen the promo for episode 17 but the whole Rukhi-gone-missing case seems to be Qasim uncle just killing her. My mom of course predicted this but that kind of caught me off guard for a second.

    1. I watched Episode 17. It's so depressing (and again pointless) that I didn't write a review. Maybe there was a point to Rukhi dying and maybe Saman will come to her senses and then maybe I will write a review....So many maybes...

    2. Just got to finish seeing it. It was all so predictable. I guess it had to be done to force Saman back into her senses cause she did seem pretty shaken up by it. I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on it (:
