Inteha - Episode 15: A Review and Recap

Upon request, I thought I'd write up an update on this drama so far. For the sake of my fingers and sanity, I respectfully request my readers to read the first review of the drama (covering episode 1 & 2) to understand where it all began. Coming to the present, I will just update you on each plot as the characters appear...so let's go!

First off we have these two villains: Falaknaz and Shehreyar. Falaknaz used to be married to Moid and Shehreyar was married to Moid's sister, Mishaal (who is also his cousin). The two were attracted to one another from day one because they are both power hungry and driven individuals. By getting married, they have managed to alienate everyone: Falaknaz's family ke leeaye woh marr chuki hei (so much drama) and her new mother-in-law refuses to even acknowledge her, Shehreyar's hated by his ex-wife's whole family and his mom is only willing to talk to him cos at the end of the day woh unka beta hei but she isn't happy about it one bit. Shehreyar, in an attempt to bring peace about at home, has asked his mom what it will take for her to accept Falaknaz and she says Falaknaz should not work and stay at home - the exact bone of contention that became the grounds for her separation from Moid. In conclusion, basically this is happening:

Injured party #1: Falaknaz's Family

Falaknaz's decision to divorce Moid and marry Shehreyar has forced dad to acknowledge maybe he didn't raise her as well as he should have. He now wants to apologize to her ex's family, who also happen to be long time friends of his. Falaknaz's brother has his own reasons to hate Falaknaz: she convinced her father to stop him from marrying the love of his life. 

So off daddy goes into the lion's den to apologize for his daughter's mistake and try to mend fences. 

Judging by the reaction from Injured Party #2 (i.e. Moid's parents), we may be in for some fireworks...Also, Moid ki ami se bari koi saroo aaj tak nahi dekhi meine. Ufffff.

So I'm just going to go out on a limb here and make a prediction: Injured party #1 has two perfectly eligible children and one dad with a guilty conscious. Injured party #2 has two wronged children and a son with a chip on his shoulder...Gee, what could POSSIBLY happen? Dear Express, please don't be predictable...

Apparently the production house didn't think it was important to dress the child stars in rich people clothes. She looks like she's wearing the same outfit from Alvida (where she plays the domestic help). #PakistaniDramaLogic

Back at Shehreyar-ville, Falaknaz prances in and asks Aunty to go shopping with her aka asks for Aunty to do her bezeti. And Aunty obliges, most willingly. 

Uncle apologizes to his pal, but Moid bursts in and shuts him down. Later Moid takes on his elder brother, leaving us to wonder...

Meanwhile, Falaknaz decides she's going to go to the office regardless of what saasu-ma wants. At the office, Shehreyar is busy making vague excuses for his wife's absence, implying she's pregnant. When Falaknaz walks in, his slimy business partner proceeds to fall at her feet. Surprise surprise - Shehreyar is not amused. 

Aunty, in true evil saas form, calls her son to tattle-tell on the bahu. Then she becomes the one-woman welcoming committee, gloating on Falaknaz's return. 

Falaknaz sees Shehreyar turn from

Prince Charming to Dominating Frog within mere minutes. You almost feel sorry for her. Almost. 

Moid needs to calm his roll and stop busting in on other people having conversations in the drawing room. 

The Masi is reporting on Shehreyar's marital affairs? Awwwwkwaaard...

The solution to any problem: Shadi. #PakistaniDramaLogic 

Anyway - you don't really know who this Aunty is, but she proceeds to tell Moid's mom how poor Shehwar (Falaknaz's sister), who is an absolute angel, is now rishta-less because people are afraid she might have the same marriage hopping disease her sister has. A long epilogue happens on the exceptional qualities of Shehwar...like I said, come on Express, don't be so predictable now...

The episode ends with Mishaal being all nice to Shehwar and vice versa. Falaknaz might've married Moid, but it was Shehwar who managed to become besties with her susraal. 

So is this drama predictable and slightly over the top? Sure, but it's also entertaining, so I stick with it. Sadly, the sanctity of marriage and gravity of divorce are lacking (like most dramas these days) but it has none of that dosari biwi nonsense, which is recommendation enough compared to what else is on TV. 

Now on to catch up with Alvida. Maybe this week I'll figure out why we thought it would be a good investment of our time...
