After an Indian movie inspired episode introducing us to the characters and making sure we understand Saba is in love with Irtiza, episode two opened up with Eid...
Dadi passed out a stingy 100 rupay ki eidi (and then spent the rest of the episode handing money out like M&Ms to Saba).
And the award for the most awkward father-son hug goes to...
And what's the point of this useless cameo appearance?
After a whole episode dedicated to the ronak of chand raath, the most boring eid proceeds to happen. And for the sake of my sanity please someone tell me WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE SHEERKHORMA IT TOOK 5 PEOPLE TO MAKE?!
How did this old people romance pass the sensor board? *lol*
Hang on a second... Last episode these two were all coy and hiding their romance from Dadi and now they're cheek kissing in from of her?
All that song and dance in the Bazaar and this is the mehndi Saba gets done???
Totally legit cousin behaviour... Gently stroking the hair while asking for coffee.
And then OUT OF THE FREAKIN' BLUE, Irtiza's life depends on going to the US. Apparently he has to go study something to be something to establish something. Saba is obviously as blind-sided as us.
Irtiza channels Govinda... #WhiteShoes #FashionDisaster
1 - There is obviously no love at first sight going on.
2 - Irtiza looks old enough to be Saman's dad.
3 - Saman is smaller than that mamoth cat she's holding.
4 - Irtiza is as creepy in the US as he was in Pakistan.
Episode two and I'm ready to tag out. Does it get better???
I'm not going to screenshot all the boring conversations happening in this episode. I'm just going to give you a list.
One look at Saman's amazing house and you KNOW Irtiza is after all that daulat...
...Cos it sure as hell isn't about him falling in love with her fashion sense.
There seems to be some strange time warp going on here
.. Irteza wants to Skype from America but in Pakistan cordless phones and email haven't been invented yet.
More boring conversations....Yawn. seriously what's the point of this episode?
After most boring Eid ever Bin Roye proudly presents the most boring dholki ever.
I think they're trying to show her as a teenager. Which they're doing by reminding us of the fashion disasters we were at that age.
We can't really blame Saba for being deluded. Irteza had been giving her non platonic cousin vibes. Too bad her friend doesn't push her point further. Could have spared us the torture.
If episode 1 was overwhelmingly filmy, then episode 2 was choppy and suffered from a lack of attention to details. Once more I found it unbelievable that this actually made it to the big screen.
Until episode 3...
Hi Shamsi and N - happy new year to both of you. I gave up on Bin Roye after about 3-4 episodes, but I'm enjoying your take on it, keep'em coming. Best wishes to both of you.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you too vee. I understand why you have up on it. Taubah hai what a boring drama. Can't believe people paid money to watch this in cinema.
DeleteThe drama is pretty boring. I feel like people watched it because of Mahira Khan.
